(Fort Lauderdale, FL) – Inter Miami and soccer star Lionel Messi are celebrating the club’s first MLS Cup title.
The club took down Vancouver 3-1 in the final at home in Broward County.
In the 71st minute, Rodrigo De Paul netted the match-winner at Chase Stadium in front of a packed crowd.
Even though he didn’t score a goal, Lionel Messi had a hand in all three goals.
Inter Miami is the 16th side to win an MLS championship in just its sixth season.
Inter Miami head coach Javier Mascherano is very proud of the team.
“All of the club is involved in this trophy, and the retiring players deserve it. They changed the mentality here. Along with Leo. This goodbye is fantastic for them and they deserve it.”
