Orlando is about to feel a little more like the Shire. Dust off your cloaks, grab your second breakfast, and prepare to journey back to Middle-earth because the hobbits are coming to town.
Megacon Orlando will be one of just 11 cities to host An Evening With the Hobbits: In Celebration of 25 Years. It’ll be a reunion of The Lord of the Rings actors that brings together the beloved fellowship of characters Frodo Baggins (Elijah Wood), Samwise Gamgee (Sean Astin), Merry Brandybuck (Dominic Monaghan) and Pippin Took (Billy Boyd).
This isn’t your average convention panel; think of it more as a variety show sprinkled with storytelling and laughter to mark 25 years of friendship. The four friends will share behind-the-scenes tales from The Lord of the Rings trilogy, recall the chaos of their adventures in New Zealand and reflect on how the films changed fantasy forever.
“To be celebrating this milestone — a quarter of a century — just feels abstract. It still feels like the films are really present,” Elijah Wood said at a recent Fan Expo event. “The fact that we’re spending this kind of time (at conventions with fans and doing shows like this) it keeps it so fresh for us. It’s such a massive, continual part of our lives.”
The Orlando stop will take place March 21 at 7:30 p.m. at the Orange County Convention Center, as part of Megacon Orlando 2026, which runs from March 19 to 22.
Tickets for An Evening With the Hobbits: In Celebration of 25 Years go on sale Oct. 22 at 10 a.m. via Fan Expo, and Megacon admission is required. Fans are encouraged to snag their seats faster than a hobbit at an all-you-can-eat feast.
So whether you’re a longtime Ringer or just someone who never skips second breakfast, this is one reunion you won’t want to miss. After all, not all who wander are lost; some are just heading to Megacon.
