TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – The early signing period has come and gone for high school football players, but for all other sports? It’s still game on. At Maclay, two Marauders made things official Monday.
Alana Wilson will run in the ACC. She’s headed to Boston College. Wilson helped lead the Maclay girls track team to a state runner-up finish last season, winning the 4×1 and finishing second in the four by four. She said she’ll focus on those same events at Boston College.
Beach volleyball player Addison Davis isn’t going too far away, as she’s headed to Berry College up in Rome, Georgia. Davis said she started playing beach in ninth grade. She said she was hooked and knew that’s what she wanted to play in college.
“It’s really overwhelming,” she said. “It really is just such a special thing just to have everybody come out and to be honored for all the work you put in. It really is such a special thing.”
“It’s absolutely surreal, but the work is never finished,” added Wilson of her big day. “This is just a new chapter for me. This is the real show that’s about to begin and I’m so excited I know have immense opportunities to be the best version of myself.”
