PORT ST. LUCIE (CBS12) — A 6-year-old girl has died after a weekend go-kart accident at an adventure park in Port St. Lucie.

The girl was identified in an obituary shared by the child’s family with WPEC-CBS12 as Emma Riddle, who was described as “full of life, love, and light … (and) touched every soul she met.”

“Though her time with us was far too short, Emma filled every moment with laughter, compassion, and warmth,” the notice said.

According to the obituary, Emma was at Urban Air Adventure Park celebrating her sister’s birthday last Saturday when an incident occurred involving a go-kart. The girl was airlifted to HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital, where she died on Sunday.

Her memorial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Calvary Chapel in Port St. Lucie, on Northwest St. James Drive. The public is invited.

The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services has oversight of go-kart tracks, as they fall under their jurisdiction for carnival rides, and a state investigation into the crash is now underway. Port St. Lucie Police also notified OSHA, meaning multiple agencies are involved in determining how the accident occurred.

Urban Air has not provided a comment on the accident.
