TAMPA, Fla. (WWSB) – Two Tampa police officers rescued an elderly man who slipped while blowing leaves on his roof and was left dangling three stories high.
Officer Jason Sikoski and Officer Kaleb Girard pulled the man to safety and stayed with him until Tampa Fire Rescue arrived and helped him to the ground, according to a Tampa Police Department social media post.
Body camera footage shows the officers working to pull the man up from where he was hanging.

“I got you, sir,” one officer said during the rescue. “Put your foot against that metal version.”
The officers guided the man through the rescue process, telling him to reach up and grab his wrist to pull him to safety.
“I didn’t mean to cause all this,” the man said.
“No, no, no. It’s not your fault at all. That’s what we’re here for, okay?” an officer responded.
The man thanked the officers for their quick response time.
“We’re grateful for their quick response, and for a community that trusts us to be there when it matters most!” the department said.
