ST. LUCIE COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — The Texas-sized travel stop is headed to St. Lucie County in 2027 and Ocala in 2028.
But that’s just the start of its impact. The St. Lucie County location — planned for the southeast corner of I-95 and Indrio Road — won’t just be a mega-convenience store. The sprawling 73,000-square-foot facility will feature 733 parking spaces, 120 fuel pumps, 20 EV chargers, and 11 bus bays, all set on a 33-acre campus.
The anticipation is triggering a ripple effect in regional development. According to CBS12, the announcement has already drawn home builders, commercial investors, and giant developers, all eyeing the surrounding 800-acre “town center” project—complete with 2,500+ homes, a K8 school, fire station, and nearly 1 million square feet of commercial space.
However, rigid traffic flow and zoning rules had slowed progress. But the county approved revised plans earlier this year — moving the project to “probably 90%” completion in approvals, according to a county update on the land development.
Not everyone is excited. In August 2025, wildlife experts and commissioners raised alarms over a 100-foot Buc-ee’s sign, fearing its lights could disrupt sea turtle hatchlings and migratory birds — a concern disputed by Buc-ee’s backers, though the county greenlit the display anyway.

Still, nothing dampens the buzz among Buc-ee’s fans and Florida commuters. Known for its sprawling stores, spotless restrooms, and signature snacks like Beaver Nuggets, Buc-ee’s has built a loyal following that turns every opening into an event. The new Florida locations will join existing stores in Daytona Beach and St. Augustine, giving travelers even more chances to experience what many call the ultimate pit stop.
