OKEECHOBEE COUNTY, Fla. – An Okeechobee County babysitter arrested this month is accused of using antifreeze to poison an 11-month-old boy.
Anna Adamo, 59, faces charges of aggravated child abuse, attempted first-degree murder, and poisoning food, water, or medicine with intent to kill or injure, according to records obtained by People.
Adamo was arrested in Georgia and extradited to Florida, where she was charged Oct. 11 in connection to an incident Feb. 12 in which a boy presented to her in perfect health was later found “suffering from the effects of Ethylene Glycol (antifreeze) poisoning, as diagnosed by doctors,” a probable cause affidavit states.
The child was put on life support and was sent to three different hospitals, according to the affidavit.
Adamo has since been released on a $600,000 bond, records show.
