Jacksonville’s weekend forecast details
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Hi there, it’s Katie Garner from The Weather Authority, and I’ve got your latest forecast using News4JAX’s Exact Track 4D radar. Jacksonville is feeling pretty good right now, with temperatures in the low 60s across town and 70s hanging on along the coast. When you head further inland, it cools off into the 50s.
Looking ahead, our average high is right around 81 degrees, and you can expect temperatures to land just a little above or below that over the next several days. Saturday is looking sunny and mild with a high near 80 degrees. Sunday warms up a bit to about 86 degrees, and there is a 20 percent chance you might see some rain as a front moves through. Monday’s forecast is similar, with a high near 82 degrees and another 20 percent chance of rain. Otherwise, we’re seeing a lot of sun, thanks to high pressure sticking around before that front arrives.
Fun times: football, 5Ks, sunshine
If you’re heading out for Friday night football or joining one of the 5Ks this weekend—like the Oktoberfest Beer & Brats 5K in San Marco—you’re in luck. The weather is expected to be gorgeous for outdoor plans. High school football games Friday night kick off with temperatures in the low 70s at 6 p.m., sliding down to the upper 60s by 8 p.m.
For the Saturday evening 5K in San Marco, clear skies are forecast and it should feel very comfortable, hanging in the 70s during the race. I was out there checking out the setup yesterday, and it’s looking like a great event. These mild conditions should be just right for runners and fans.

Beaches: rip current risk and tropics
If you’re planning a beach day, please be aware: we’ve got a high rip current risk along Northeast Florida’s coast right now, highlighted by those bright red markers on our Exact Track 4D radar map. It’s a good time to use extra caution in the surf.
Out in the Atlantic, there are two tropical systems we’re keeping an eye on. One is expected to stay well to our east, while another has a 30 percent chance of developing in the Caribbean over the next seven days. I’ll keep you updated if anything changes with these systems.
For now, enjoy the warm October sunshine and the beautiful weather on tap for all your outdoor plans in Jacksonville and across Northeast Florida!
