TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A former Leon County teacher has been arrested after alleged sexual misconduct, the Leon County Sheriff’s Office announced.
On Wednesday, LCSO arrested 30-year-old Mikayla Rich after an investigation into alleged sexual misconduct with a minor.
According to LCSO, detectives determined that a relationship between Rich and a minor spanned around three years.

The relationship started when Rich was 27 and the victim was 16.
At the time of the relationship, Rich was a teacher at Acts Christian Academy, according to LCSO.
According to arrest documents, the relationship between Rich and the minor did not turn sexual until they turned 18.
Before that, the arrest documents said they would hold hands and sleep next to each other on the couch or bed. Text message records showed the pair referred to each other as ‘babe’ and shared ‘I love yous,’ according to the arrest documents.
Most recently, Rich worked at Apalachee Elementary School, but school officials said she no longer works with Leon County Schools.
She is charged with offenses against students by authority figures.
