Stolen Car From Tampa Airport Leads St. Petersburg Man To Walton County Jail
Deputies Intercept Vehicle After Daring Parking Garage Escape
WALTON COUNTY, Fla. – A 32-year-old St. Petersburg man is behind bars after his attempt to steal a car from Tampa International Airport was cut short by the Walton County Sheriff’s Office.
Lonnie Morris was taken into custody Sunday after deputies were alerted to a vehicle, reported stolen from Tampa International Airport, traveling through their area.
The investigation revealed that Morris was initially denied a rental vehicle at the airport. Undeterred, he allegedly took matters into his own hands. Morris reportedly found a vehicle with keys left inside and then brazenly tailgated another driver to exit the parking garage.
