The Texas A&M Aggies (8-3) ran the Jacksonville Dolphins (5-6) out of Reed Arena, 112-75, marking their fourth 100-point-plus game this season.
A&M did exactly what they needed to do to get back on track after a tough loss to SMU last week. This was another one of those games where, when everything is clicking, they are nearly impossible to stop. After a few minutes to open the game, the floodgates burst open, and the Aggies sprinted out to a 51-26 first-half lead. The Aggies were dominant on both sides of the ball, with 12 players scoring, 15 assists, and seven steals recorded.

The second half was more of the same, with different players stepping up in key moments. Rylan Griffen, who had missed some games due to illness, led the Aggies in scoring with 19 points, while backup center Jamie Vinson went a perfect 6-for-6 from the field for 14 points. They outscored the Dolphins 61-49 in the second half and forced 19 total turnovers.
There was plenty to like about this performance, but moving forward, they need to establish more consistent point guard play. At present, it’s a position run by committee, which reflects the style of play. However, there were a few costly turnovers. When they enter conference play, the team will need a reliable option to lean on in crunch time. Overall, this was exactly what Bucky Ball should look like, and they should take pride in that victory.
Key Stats:
Texas A&M made 12 three-pointers, shooting 48% as a team and 59% overall from the field
Griffen led A&M in scoring with 19 points on 7 of 8 shooting
Vinson was perfect from the field, making all six shots for 14 points.
Texas A&M had 65 points off the bench.
