PHOTOS: A fire broke out at a Port St. Lucie pool business on Tuesday morning, prompting firefighters to quickly extinguish the fire before it spread to a nearby fireworks shop. CBS12 News was on the scene of what appeared to be a significant fire at South East Pools and Spas located at 7330 S U.S. Hwy 1. The St. Lucie County Fire District (SLCFD) reported that the fire broke out at 5:37 a.m. When crews arrived, they reported finding half of the building engulfed in flames and escalated the fire to a second alarm, bringing in over 45 firefighters. SLCFD said that crews worked quickly to stop the flames from spreading to a neighboring fireworks store. In response to the situation, lanes on U.S. Hwy 1 heading into Fort Pierce were closed to ensure the safety of the public.
