TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Periods of rain showers and a few rumbles of thunder throughout the day.
⛈️Today’s rain:
Rain is ongoing across North Florida and South Georgia this morning and is expected to continue through the afternoon. Some heavier downpours can be expected, especially during the afternoon. I am not expecting many thunderstorms since we are lacking sunshine (which limits storm energy), but there may be a few isolated storms IF the sun does break out in a few spots this afternoon.
Highs in the mid to upper 60s across the Big Bend and South Georgia today. Clouds and rain will keep our thermometers a bit lower today.
🌧️More showers tonight:
Tonight, a cold front will slide through the southeast, which will bring another line of showers and a few storms to the area. Due to the strong winds upstairs in the atmosphere, a few stronger storms with brief gusty winds look possible. Lows will be mild in the 50s.
Rain totals between Thursday and Friday morning will be between 0.75 and 1 inch, with some locally higher amounts.
For your Friday, clouds and a few morning showers are possible, but sunshine will break out in the afternoon. Highs near 70 as high pressure starts to take over.
😎Weekend sun:
Sunshine prevails as we head into the weekend and high pressure continues to dominate the southern U.S. Saturday and Sunday will both start in the 30s. 70s in the afternoon.
🎄Christmas Week:
More dry and above average warmth heading into Christmas week. Temperatures in the 40s overnight and 70s in the afternoon, including Christmas Day.
