Miami and Texas A&M have, at times, looked like two of the best teams in all of college football. However, the Hurricanes’ mid-season losses nearly cost them a playoff berth, and Texas A&M’s Week 14 loss to Texas took the Aggies out of contention for the SEC title.

Miami is led by head coach Mario Cristobal and one of the most experienced quarterbacks in college football, Georgia transfer Carson Beck. The Canes’ rushing offense is capable of dominating games, and they have the sixth-best scoring defense in the country.

Meanwhile, the Aggies defense is tied for first in the nation in sacks, with 41 on the season. Their explosive offense is fueled by an experienced offensive line, dynamic sophomore quarterback Marcel Reed, and electric wide receiver K.C. Concepcion. Star running back Le’Veon Moss is still questionable with an ankle injury, and he takes their rushing offense to another level when healthy.

Both Miami and Texas A&M believe that they are title contenders, but only one can advance to the second round. Will it be the 10-2 ACC darkhorse or the 11-1 SEC powerhouse? The winner will play Ohio State in the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic on New Year’s Eve.
