Once again in 2026, Florida State will heavily dip its toes into the transfer portal pool. The Seminoles will lose Jerry Wilson, and their depth is mostly composed of redshirt freshmen at cornerback.

This means that cornerback will be a position of interest for FSU once the portal opens next month. According to Zach Blostein of Noles247, Troy cornerback Jaquez White could be high on Florida State’s board.

“I believe White to be one of the defensive backs expected in the portal that FSU likes the most. He was one of the highest graded corners per PFF last season and held his own when Troy traveled to Clemson early in the year — which is when he made it on FSU’s radar.”

White came to Troy this season after starting his collegiate career at Washburn University, which is a Division II school in Kansas. The 6-foot-1, 190-pounder earned second-team All-Sun Belt honors as he registered 67 tackles and 3.5 tackles for loss. White also led Troy with three interceptions and 11 pass breakups.

Blostein also dropped this little nugget. It appears that Florida State is likely to get a visit from White sometime soon.

“I’m hearing that two schools who will likely receive visits from White are Florida State and Georgia Tech. There could be more added to his planned visits, but it sounds like these are the programs he intends to check out so far.”

Once the portal opens on Jan. 2, White will undoubtedly be a player to watch in regards to FSU.
