GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – People lined the streets of University Avenue in Gainesville to watch the University of Florida homecoming parade on Friday.
The parade kicked off at noon, traveling up 13th Street and east on University Avenue from UF’s campus to Main Street in downtown Gainesville.
The parade features many student organizations and Homecoming Week sponsors.

For the first time in many years, TV20 participated in the parade. TV20’s Paige Beck, Robert Bradfield, Kristin Chase, Olivia Eisenhauer, Kayla Lewis, Adam Pittman, Bradley Benoit and Carson Lokey greeted parade goers.

Homecoming festivities continue with Gator Growl at 7 p.m. at the O’Connell Center.
On Saturday, the Florida Gators host Mississippi State at the Swamp for the annual homecoming game.
