TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Excitement and high energy can be felt around Tallahassee as people gear up for FAMU’s Homecoming game and head to T-Pain’s block party.
Part of the celebration on Friday included FAMU’s convocation that brought thousands to the Al Lawson Center to celebrate the HBCU’s lasting legacy and rattle school spirit.
Speakers filled the crowd with excitement for the big game tomorrow and words of motivation for FAMU’s future.
“Our FAMU is not powerless. We are direct descendants of problem solvers, legacy founders on the Hall, talent and leaders in our community,” Kenneth Jones, CEO of HCA Florida Northwest Hospital, said.
FAMU takes on Alcorn State tomorrow at Bragg Stadium with a 4 p.m. kickoff.
Along the street named after Tallahassee’s hometown superstar, crowds gathered for music and dancing.
Also ramping up excitement Friday night is the T-Pain Block Party.
