TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – One person suffered minor injuries after a house fire in the 700 block of California Street on Monday afternoon, according to the Tallahassee Fire Department.

Firefighters arrived at about 2:40 p.m. to find smoke billowing from the home, per TFD.

All occupants made it outside before firefighters arrived, and one person was treated and released with minor injuries at the scene, according to TFD.

Food left unattended on the kitchen stove was determined to be the cause of the fire, per TFD.

The fire marks the 11th red bulb in TFD’s Keep the Wreath Green initiative, which tracks residential structure fires during the holiday season.
