Jacksonville neurological clinic closes suddenly, leaving patients without medications

  • December 23, 2025

JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – The Jacksonville Children’s & Multispecialty Clinic of Neurology (JCMC) closed permanently Friday, Nov. 28, leaving patients without access to medications and searching for answers.

A sign on the clinic door notifies patients of the permanent closure but does not provide a reason for the shutdown.

Christina Johnson, a former patient, said she learned about the closure through Facebook with no other communication from the clinic.

“No notice other than Facebook. No phone calls, no any kind of interaction with them and they left me hanging with no medications,” Johnson said.

Johnson said she has attempted to get answers from the clinic without success. WITN has also been unsuccessful in reaching the clinic for comment.

Cordelia Johnson, Christina’s mother, said the clinic provided no guidance to help patients transition their care.

“They should at least tell the patients – hey, here’s a list, try this out. But they didn’t even do that – they did nothing. They just left people hanging,” Cordelia Johnson said.

The Johnsons moved to Jacksonville specifically for this neurologist. Christina Johnson, who suffers from epilepsy, needs her medications refilled. Her mother said they are hoping to find a new neurologist soon.
