TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – This time of year, many people are binge-watching Christmas movies, and there is a new one that was penned right in Tallahassee.
“Deck the Hallways” was written by a Florida A&M University alum and dedicated to his father.
The Lifetime movie is a story about a young woman who returns to her grandparents’ 5th-floor apartment to rekindle some of her favorite holiday traditions and rediscover her childhood sweetheart.

The screenplay was written in Tallahassee by FAMU grad and writer/producer Gregory Anderson. The story is inspired by and dedicated to his late father, a FAMU math professor of 60 years.

“To see it come alive so quickly from the time when he passed in August to now see it on a screen and to see his face at the end and to see the dedications to him throughout the story, it was really heartwarming to us, and it felt like he’s immortalized now to us through film,” Anderson said.
Anderson wrote the screenplay at his father’s bedside earlier this year. Sadly, Osiefield Anderson passed away before it was finished.
Gregory Anderson is best known for the movie “Stomp the Yard,” and “Deck the Hallways” is his first Christmas movie.
