PINELLAS PARK — A 57-year-old Clearwater woman died after a PSTA bus driver turned left despite a red light and collided with her vehicle, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The bus driver, a 38-year-old Pinellas Park man, was stopped at a red light at Roosevelt Boulevard and Lake Carillon Drive on Dec. 20 when he turned left into the path of a Nissan Armada traveling east on Roosevelt Boulevard, according to FHP.
The vehicles collided, and the bus driver, who wasn’t wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the bus, troopers said.
Both drivers were injured and taken to a hospital, FHP said. The woman, a passenger in the Armada, suffered serious injuries and was taken to a hospital, where she died.
The Armada’s driver, a 57-year-old Clearwater man, also was injured, troopers said.
