Warmth continues though your holiday weekend for Tallahassee, the Big Bend and South Georgia?

  • December 26, 2025

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Patchy fog this morning, then another very warm afternoon with highs approaching record territory. Cold returns next week.

😎A warm Friday:

Some patchy fog as you head out the door this morning. That lower visibility may slow some folks early this morning. I expect the fog to be gone shortly after sunrise.

I am expecting mostly sunny conditions with a few passing clouds this afternoon. Temperatures will be in the upper 70s to near 80 degrees again today. The record for the capital city is 83 degrees, set in 2015. I think we fall shy of that number on Friday.

🌫️Holiday weekend:

Foggy conditions are expected overnight Friday and into your Saturday morning. I think this will be widespread dense fog across North Florida and South Georgia in the morning hours. If you are traveling along the Gulf Coast or I-10 on Saturday, you will face some travel troubles through at least sunrise.

After the sun comes up, there will be some thick, low clouds that will take some time to break up. The cloud cover and fog will keep temperatures mild on Saturday morning in the upper 50s to near 60.

Clouds will try to break in the afternoon, but not enough to rapidly warm us up. Still expect a warm afternoon with thermometers reaching the mid-70s.

Sunday will start foggy too, but the clouds should break a little sooner. Still a partly to mostly cloudy day is expected—highs in the mid to upper 70s to wrap up the holiday weekend.

🥶Cold Front Monday:

A front is expected to arrive on Monday afternoon, bringing a few showers to the Big Bend and South Georgia. The front will bring dramatic changes to the area.

Highs on Tuesday and Wednesday will be in the 50s. Morning lows fall into the 30s and 20s.
