Los Angeles Rams star receiver Puka Nacua will not play in Sunday’s matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London, coach Sean McVay announced Friday.
Nacua did not practice Wednesday while recovering from a sprained left ankle he suffered in the second quarter of the Rams’ 17-3 victory over the Baltimore Ravens last Sunday while attempting to catch a pass in the end zone. He returned to the game in the third quarter but did not have another target.

On Monday, McVay said the team was “encouraged” by scans taken of Nacua’s ankle. He remains so after watching the receiver’s rehab.
“He’s making good progress,” McVay said Friday. “I am very optimistic about hopefully having him ready after the bye. I think it’ll serve him well and I have confidence in our other receivers to be able to step up.”
Nacua had two receptions for 28 yards against the Ravens before the injury, giving him 54 catches for 616 yards and two touchdowns this season.
Offensive tackle Rob Havenstein will miss his third straight game because of an ankle injury, while running back Blake Corum (ankle), receiver Tutu Atwell (hamstring) and linebacker Omar Speights (ankle) are good to go, according to McVay.
“He wants to be out there more than anybody and he’s such a great leader,” McVay said of Havenstein. “He’s frustrated because he wants to be out there working with his teammates, but he’s been leading in the meantime. We are hopeful that this time off will serve him well.”
