Davie apartment fire leaves woman dead

DAVIE, Fla. — A woman has died after a Davie apartment erupted in flames Friday morning, according to the town’s police department.

Authorities said they arrived at Nova Central Apartments, located near the 6800 block of College Court Manor, where they found a woman dead at scene.

Davie Fire Rescue crews said the State Fire Marshal’s Office as been notified and will investigate the cause of the blaze.

Sky 10 flew over the scene just before 10:30 a.m., where first responders were putting up crime scene tape.

Investigators have not release the woman’s age or identity pending next of kin.
