Land purchase for highly anticipated Buc-ee’s Tallahassee development tops $10 million

  • December 28, 2025

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – The land purchase tied to the highly anticipated Buc-ee’s development in Tallahassee topped $10 million.

Buc-ee’s purchased 30.77 acres for $10,722,800, according to the Leon County Property Appraiser’s website. The sale is listed as closing on November 20, under a warranty deed, the website revealed.

The new details come after learning in November that the famously Texas-based travel center chain is one step closer to opening its location on the outskirts of Tallahassee.

The company is set to break ground sometime between January and March of next year. The store is expected to open in 2027.

Some Leon County commissioners told WCTV the company would bring about 200 jobs to unincorporated Leon County, with six of the jobs paying $100,000 a year or more.
