A three-vehicle crash Friday night in Lake County left two people dead and a man facing two counts of DUI manslaughter, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Seenarine Hardeo, 50, of Groveland was arrested and booked into the Lake County Jail after the 7:03 p.m. crash on State Road 33 south of State Road 50 near Swamp Drive.
Hardeo was driving a 2009 Mini Cooper northbound on SR 33 north of Swamp Drive and drove into the southbound lanes of SR 33 into the path of a 2019 tractor-trailer driven by a 67-year-old Miramar man, according to an FHP crash report.
The left front of the Mini Cooper hit the left front of the semi, which then veered into the northbound lanes of S.R. 33 into the direct path of a 2006 Chevy Silverado that had been traveling behind the Mini Cooper.
The semi collided with the left from the truck causing both to run off the roadway, leaving the semi overturned.
The driver of the Silverado, a 22-year-old Frostproof man, and passenger, an 18-year-old Tallahassee woman, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Hardeo was not injured, but the driver of the semi was transported to South Lake Hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
This crash remains under investigation.
