Florida Orthopaedic Institute – St. Petersburg, formerly All Florida Orthopaedic Associates, is expanding its services for Pinellas County patients.
The organization opened a new facility, at 10051 Fifth St. N., on Dec. 8.
“Our practice and our families have been part of this community for over 40 years,” managing partner Dr. Paul Pagano explained. “We knew that if we were to continue to serve our community with the same level of excellence and service, we would need to expand to grow alongside our community.”
The 60,000 square-foot building offers 40% more clinic capacity and features a double-sized physical therapy and rehabilitation center, in comparison to the practice’s former Fourth Street location. Additionally, it has an expanded imaging suite with CT, Open MRI, X-ray and musculoskeletal ultrasound capabilities.
“The patient and their experience was at the center of every detail that went into this building,” he said. “Additional space means that we can be more efficient and have the ability to see more patients, which the community needs.”
It is also home to the first orthopedic-focused urgent care center in St. Petersburg, which provides walk-in access for fractures, sprains, strains and sports-related injuries. Orthopedic specialists can help individuals receive “the right assessment, care and treatment plan” in a more cost-effective and timely manner, Pagano added.
Sometimes parents take their child to a standard urgent care center for a broken bone, he explained, but then have to bring them to a different practice to get a cast.
The goal was to build a facility that supports patients in every aspect of their care “under one roof with one care team,” Pagano said. “We want to increase access to our physicians, physical therapists and our clinic and make everything easier from making an appointment to parking.”
Ten new full-time positions have also been created as a result of the expansion.
The project has been in the works for a couple of years. Pagano and his team broke ground on the building in March 2024.
Florida Orthopaedic Institute – St. Petersburg oversees two other clinic locations – two suites at the Bayfront Medical Plaza in St. Petersburg and an office in South Pasadena.
