ORLANDO, Fla. —

This New Year’s Eve bowl game is just around the corner and will kick off on Wednesday at 3 p.m.

On Dec. 31, the Texas Longhorns will take on the Michigan Wolverines in the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl at Camping World Stadium.

University of Michigan football players visited the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Florida in Orlando, bringing joy to children with games and activities ahead of their matchup.

Thanks to the support of Morgan and Morgan, an injury law firm, several Wolverines players visited the club on Lakeland Avenue, where they played games and shared fun moments with the kids just two days before their game against Texas at Camping World Stadium.

“This is a fantasy and dream come true for so many of our kids who aspire to be great athletes and get to see what it’s like to put in hard work, also with schooling and make their dreams come true,” said Jamie Merrill, president and CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida.

“I’m super excited to spend time with these kids, hopefully try to be a role model for them,” said Cole Sullivan, a Wolverines linebacker. “When I was a kid, we always dream about being a good athlete, be in Division 1 and going to great school, so I had some great role models in my life, so hopefully I can pay it forward.”

Linebackers Jaydon Hood from Miami and Troy Bowles from Tampa also expressed their excitement about being back in Florida and engaging with the children.

“It’s cool seeing the kids. It’s always good to be back home and just volunteer. It’s good being here,” Hood said.

The event included dinner in the cafeteria, nighttime flag football, and basketball, where the children enjoyed every moment.

“The football player picked me up and I dunked and right there I made a three-pointer,” said 7-year-old Marley Stantin, sharing his excitement about the experience.
