\nget-away-from-winter travel season, Visit Lauderdale is making a splash with a new ad campaign\u00a0debuting in\u00a0CNN\u2019s \u201cNew Year\u2019s
\nEve\u00a0Live\u00a0With\u00a0Anderson\u00a0Cooper and Andy Cohen,\u201d which drew\u00a0nearly 16\u00a0million viewers last year.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The\u00a0effort\u00a0is anchored by
\nthe\u00a0new\u00a0tagline,\u00a0\u201cNeverLoseYourSplash.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
The agency\u00a0strived\u00a0to\u00a0separate Lauderdale\u2019s pitch from the \u201cchorus of
\nwarm-weather\u00a0getaway\u201d ads to create a story about \u201crediscovering joy through water.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
Greater Fort Lauderdale\u00a0isn\u2019t\u00a0just another beach, per the agency. It boasts 24
\nmiles of shoreline and 300 miles\u00a0of inland waterways\u00a0(hence the sobriquet \u201cVenice of America\u201d). Not to mention 31 distinct cities and towns.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
The creative taps
\ninto\u00a0all the joys of water, from snorkeling to gondola rides to Everglades airboat tours and sea-turtle nesting season.\u00a0The campaign reminds us that joy is often spontaneous and
\ncaptures\u00a0moments of glee that occur with a sudden rainstorm, dancing on a dock or even just sand in your hair.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
The focus on water in the campaign is in part a response to research that
\nfound travelers recognized the region as a beach destination while awareness of its broader water-based experiences was limited.\u00a0Focusing\u00a0on the area\u2019s\u00a0diverse array
\nof\u00a0experiences,\u00a0it also differentiates Greater Fort Lauderdale from markets further south, according to the agency.\u00a0<\/p>\n
In addition to ads in the\u00a0New Years Eve\u00a0program, the campaign
\nfeatures an immersive billboard in Times Square that will tease the launch, with larger activations on Nasdaq\u2019s and Midtown\u2019s screens in March, and a takeover of\u00a0the\u00a0Oculus
