Local 10\u2019s livestream countdowns start at 11 p.m. Marshmello is among the performers<\/p>\n

MIAMI \u2014 Steve Carpenter, better known as Mr. Neon, is proud of being part of Miami\u2019s New Year\u2019s Eve tradition with the 35-foot-tall Big Orange, which weighs about 2,000 pounds, in Downtown. <\/p>\n

The city will welcome 2026 by dropping the artist\u2019s glowing orange at midnight from the top of the InterContinental Hotel, at 100 Chopin Plaza, with new lighting effects this midnight.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s amazing! When I first built it and designed it, I didn\u2019t know it was going to become an icon,\u201d Carpenter said. \u201cI just thought we would do it for New Year\u2019s [Eve] maybe one or two years. I never dreamed it would be going on 40 years.\u201d <\/p>\n

In true Miami fashion, Marshmello<\/a>, Nicky Jam, Flo Rida, Gente de Zona, and To\u00f1o Rosario are the lineup on the stage at the 32-acre Bayfront Park, at 301 Biscayne Boulevard. <\/p>\n

Michael Hankerson, better known as the Miami Heat\u2019s favorite DJ M Dot, will be the host of \u201cThe Countdown Miami at Bayfront<\/a>” by the Bayfront Park Management Trust<\/a>, which counts on Miami Commissioner Miguel \u00c1ngel Gabela as the chairman. <\/p>\n

Entry is \u201cfirst-come, first-served.\u201d To keep up with the party goers, Miami\u2019s Metromover and Miami-Dade County\u2019s Metrorail will be operating through midnight until 2 a.m. on Jan. 1.<\/p>\n
