{"id":105438,"date":"2026-01-04T19:06:10","date_gmt":"2026-01-04T19:06:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/105438\/"},"modified":"2026-01-04T19:06:10","modified_gmt":"2026-01-04T19:06:10","slug":"florida-bar-supreme-court-discipline-11-lawyers-for-misconduct","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/105438\/","title":{"rendered":"Florida Bar, Supreme Court discipline 11 lawyers for misconduct"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/supremecourt.flcourts.gov\/\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Florida Supreme Court<\/a> and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.floridabar.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external noreferrer nofollow\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">the Florida Bar<\/a> moved to discipline 11 lawyers for misconduct.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Two of those lawyers were disbarred from practice; six were suspended; and three received reprimands. The state Supreme Court and the Florida Bar\u2019s Division of Lawyer Regulation handle state disciplinary action for some 115,000 members of the Bar.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Lisa Jacobs of Aventura was one of the two lawyers disbarred. <a href=\"https:\/\/acis.flcourts.gov\/portal\/court\/68f021c4-6a44-4735-9a76-5360b2e8af13\/case\/4e3c8837-6722-40b8-ae5d-db1f8b68ffe2\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer nofollow\">The action<\/a> came after a Dec. 15 court order and she was found in contempt after failing to submit an affidavit to clients and opposing counsel that she had earlier been suspended from practice.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Robert Michael Fojo of Nashua, New Hampshire, is the other lawyer who was disbarred in Florida\u00a0for trust account\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/acis.flcourts.gov\/portal\/court\/68f021c4-6a44-4735-9a76-5360b2e8af13\/case\/b6a39c08-8922-4317-b4f5-57220289fca5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external noreferrer nofollow\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">improprieties,<\/a> including\u00a0misappropriation of client funds and failure to maintain a trust account.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Lawyers who are disbarred can\u2019t reapply for admission for five years.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fit.edu\/?utm_source=FloridaPolitics&amp;utm_medium=digital&amp;utm_campaign=FloridaPolitics&amp;utm_content=homepage\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external noreferrer nofollow\" data-wpel-link=\"external\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-756323 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/20250658_FINAL_FloridaPolitics_728x90.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"728\" height=\"90\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The lawyers who were suspended include:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u2014 Aara Caldarera Bloom of Miami was <a href=\"https:\/\/acis.flcourts.gov\/portal\/court\/68f021c4-6a44-4735-9a76-5360b2e8af13\/case\/f2778bb5-0fb7-4e1a-8d5a-40c5c357c765\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer nofollow\">suspended<\/a> for three years after a Dec. 4 court order that held Bloom in contempt for failing to submit an affidavit notifying clients and opposing counsel of a previous suspension.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u2014 Josephy Anthony Gasparro of Jacksonville was <a href=\"https:\/\/acis.flcourts.gov\/portal\/court\/68f021c4-6a44-4735-9a76-5360b2e8af13\/case\/f86a8f26-6a5a-4b46-ade8-85960d812b38\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer nofollow\">suspended<\/a> until further notice following a Dec. 12 court order that found Gasparro had multiple complaints alleging negligence, lack of communication and lack of progress in cases. Gasparro also failed to respond to complaints.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u2014 Augustus Sol Invictus of Orlando was <a href=\"https:\/\/acis.flcourts.gov\/portal\/court\/68f021c4-6a44-4735-9a76-5360b2e8af13\/case\/53a00792-4002-4b93-a714-7b764d716b7a\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer nofollow\">suspended<\/a> following a felony conviction in October in Virginia for a charge of burning an object on property of another or a highway or other public place with intent to intimidate.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u2014 John Arthur Leklem of Orlando was <a href=\"https:\/\/acis.flcourts.gov\/portal\/court\/68f021c4-6a44-4735-9a76-5360b2e8af13\/case\/2725c0ef-350a-4957-87a5-5a7a0cb8b731\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer nofollow\">suspended<\/a> from practice for 90 days after being held in contempt in May 20224 for failing to comply with terms and conditions of a sanctioned order that included completing office procedures and record-keeping analysis orders under the direction of the Diversion Consultation Service of the Florida Bar.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.chpk.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external noreferrer nofollow\" data-wpel-link=\"external\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-746910 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/25JF-7.9.25-FL-Politics-Ads-728X90-V2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"728\" height=\"90\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u2014 Emelike Nwosuocha of Miami was <a href=\"https:\/\/acis.flcourts.gov\/portal\/court\/68f021c4-6a44-4735-9a76-5360b2e8af13\/case\/2e65bae5-0744-461b-b41c-3fa71b5fcdb1\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer nofollow\">suspended<\/a> for three years following a Dec. 11 court order. That order held Nwosuocha in contempt for failing to submit an affidavit notifying clients and opposing counsel of a previous suspension.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u2014 Teresa Schiele Roper of Apopka was <a href=\"https:\/\/acis.flcourts.gov\/portal\/court\/68f021c4-6a44-4735-9a76-5360b2e8af13\/case\/ff27f54f-da98-4c1e-9a00-43cec4edfabb\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer nofollow\">suspended<\/a> following a felony conviction of battery on a law enforcement officer in October 2024.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Lawyers who were reprimanded include James Russel Collins of St. Augustine and was <a href=\"https:\/\/acis.flcourts.gov\/portal\/court\/68f021c4-6a44-4735-9a76-5360b2e8af13\/case\/9f2e8a25-27d7-4887-bdef-d974ed0a2aa1\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer nofollow\">ordered<\/a> to attend an ethics school after he failed to provide clients with competent representation and adequate communication.\u00a0Dawn Marie Calache\u00a0of Port Orange was also\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/acis.flcourts.gov\/portal\/court\/68f021c4-6a44-4735-9a76-5360b2e8af13\/case\/50e804d1-6a00-4f67-afa4-be6d9d517c99\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external noreferrer nofollow\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">reprimanded<\/a> and ordered to attend a Discipline Consultation Service and to pay restitution for legal fees to two former clients for failing to ensure that her immigration clients received sound legal advice and services and for inadequate communication with clients.\u00a0And Jason Harrington Clark of West Palm Beach was <a href=\"https:\/\/acis.flcourts.gov\/portal\/court\/68f021c4-6a44-4735-9a76-5360b2e8af13\/case\/7d66c823-68cc-4756-ac18-2edf07095e3f\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer nofollow\">ordered<\/a> to attend ethics school as part of his reprimand for engaging in unlicensed practice in another state.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Florida Supreme Court and\u00a0the Florida Bar moved to discipline 11 lawyers for misconduct.
