The Sanibel Police Department issued the following weekly police blotter, which includes recent information about law enforcement response to criminal activity.<\/p>\n
ARRESTS<\/p>\n
\u2013 Katherine Elizabeth Ulrich, 60, of 5288 Concord Way, Fort Myers, was charged on Dec. 24 with one count each of DUI unlawful blood alcohol 0.15 or higher or with person under 18 in vehicle and drugs possess controlled substance without prescription.<\/p>\n
OTHER ENFORCEMENT ACTIONS<\/p>\n
\u2013 On Dec. 19, a traffic stop was initiated on a vehicle for expired Florida temporary tag. A records check revealed the temporary tag was not registered to any vehicle and the tag itself had been altered. The tag was seized, and the driver was issued a citation for misuse of a tag and a notice to appear for knowingly driving while license suspended.<\/p>\n
\u2013 On Dec. 21, a traffic stop was initiated on a vehicle for an equipment violation. A records check revealed the driver had never been issued a driver\u2019s license. The driver was issued a notice to appear for driver\u2019s license never issued. The vehicle was removed by passenger who was a licensed driver.<\/p>\n

\u2013 The free \u201cSanibel Bound\u201d app provides live feeds from traffic cameras stationed across Sanibel. It is available for Android and iOS devices in the Google Play and Apple App stores.<\/p>\n
\u2013 When leaving Sanibel, motorists are encouraged to travel east on Periwinkle Way. Officers directing traffic give priority to off-island traffic on Periwinkle.<\/p>\n
