The team finishes the year with a 7-10 record and more questions than answers as they start their preparations for 2026. While the team is shifting into high gear when it comes to things like their search for a new general manager, the players are cleaning out the locker room and heading into the offseason.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">The day after the season gives reporters one last opportunity to talk to players and get an idea of what might be the future for them. The Miami Herald\u2019s Barry Jackson provided a brief snippet of a discussion he had with guard Liam Eichenberg, and it is not a good situation for the 2021 second-round pick.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Eichenberg spent the entire 2025 season on the Physically Unable to Perform list, but no injury was ever disclosed. Jackson\u2019s report indicates it is a serious issue that could be career-threatening.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/flasportsbuzz\/status\/2008247285545947453\" rel=\"nofollow\">Jackson wrote on X<\/a>, \u201cLiam Eichenberg said he sustained [a] leg injurt at [the team] facility during [an] offseason on field session.\u201d He went on to say Eichenberg is hoping the play again but \u201cisn\u2019t certain.\u201d Calling Eichenberg a \u201cnice man\u201d Jackson added that the lineman is \u201cstill stuggling\u201d and is \u201cwalking in a brace\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Eichenberg was selected 42nd overall in 2021 out of Notre Dame. He spent time all across the offensive line for Miami, playing tackle, guard, and center in his four seasons. He signed a one-year contract with Miami this offseason.
