Video at a restaurant in Fort Lauderdale captured the moments when a man was seen shoving an employee and stealing a cash register tray.<\/p>\n
According to Fort Lauderdale Police, the incident happened early Monday morning at Cluck Face, along North Federal Highway.<\/p>\n
In the video, the man was seen paying a cashier, and then, after taking his money, the suspect pushed the cashier and took the cash register tray.<\/p>\n
NBC6 on Tuesday spoke to the restaurant’s owner, who was surprised that this happened.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo far we\u2019ve had really nice customers, we\u2019ve never had something like this before,\u201d Apo Aykut said.<\/p>\n
Aykut said the man came into the restaurant, ordered food and said he wanted to pay in cash.<\/p>\n
\u201cRight after he gave the $20, my employee opened the drawer, and when the drawer was open, he pushed the employee, and then he grabbed the whole register, and was running away with that.\u201d<\/p>\n
Aykut said the thief went running with the employee close behind, and that he dropped the money on the sidewalk and got away with nothing.<\/p>\n
Police are searching for the man, but he hasn’t been found.<\/p>\n
The employee who was shoved was not injured.<\/p>\n
