Notre Dame swept division II powerhouse Tampa and Minnesota on the men\u2019s side while Minnesota emerged victorious over Tampa in both the men\u2019s and women\u2019s meets.<\/p>\n<p>Men\u2019s Meet Recap<\/p>\n<p>Notre Dame won most of the events including both relays. They opened the meet with the top two times in the 200 medley relay touching 1st in 1:26.89 with their team of <a href=\"https:\/\/swimswam.com\/tag\/zack-oswald\/\" class=\"auto-link-tag\" title=\"View more articles about Zack Oswald\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Zack Oswald<\/a> (22.40), <a href=\"https:\/\/swimswam.com\/tag\/jack-armour\/\" class=\"auto-link-tag\" title=\"View more articles about Jack Armour\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jack Armour<\/a> (24.61), <a href=\"https:\/\/swimswam.com\/tag\/marcus-reyes-gentry\/\" class=\"auto-link-tag\" title=\"View more articles about Marcus Reyes-Gentry\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Marcus Reyes-Gentry<\/a> (20.62), and <a href=\"https:\/\/swimswam.com\/tag\/shane-eckler\/\" class=\"auto-link-tag\" title=\"View more articles about Shane Eckler\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Shane Eckler<\/a> (19.26).<\/p>\n<p>The Fighting Irish \u2018B\u2019 team finished 2nd in 1:28.41, coming in just under two tenths ahead of Tampa who finished 3rd in 1:28.48.<\/p>\n<p>Notre Dame also closed the meet with a win in the 200 free relay. Eckler led off in 20.18. Min-Gyn Jang swam 20.10 in 2nd, Reyes-Gentry was 19.65 in 3rd and <a href=\"https:\/\/swimswam.com\/bio\/tommy-janton\/\" class=\"auto-link-tag\" title=\"Tommy Janton Bio\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Tommy Janton<\/a> anchored in 20.18.<\/p>\n<p>Freshmen Eckler and Armour both pulled a lot of weight for the team with each taking home two individual event wins.<\/p>\n<p>Eckler swept the sprint freestyle events, swimming 19.91 in the 50 and 44.42 in the 100, while Armour was the breaststroke champion, winning the 100 in 54.65 and the 200 in 1:57.67.<\/p>\n<p>Other Notre Dame individual event wins came from relay swimmers Reyes-Gentry, who won the 100 back in 46.22, and Oswald, who won the 200 back in 1:46.72.<\/p>\n<p>The final Irish event winner was <a href=\"https:\/\/swimswam.com\/tag\/jeremy-kelly\/\" class=\"auto-link-tag\" title=\"View more articles about Jeremy Kelly\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jeremy Kelly<\/a>, who swam 1:37.91 in the 200 freestyle for the top time.<\/p>\n<p>Minnesota had a few event wins as well. <a href=\"https:\/\/swimswam.com\/tag\/jacob-johnson\/\" class=\"auto-link-tag\" title=\"View more articles about Jacob Johnson\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jacob Johnson<\/a> won the 200 fly in 1:44.00, <a href=\"https:\/\/swimswam.com\/tag\/daniel-eichel\/\" class=\"auto-link-tag\" title=\"View more articles about Daniel Eichel\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Daniel Eichel<\/a> swam the top time in the 500 free of 4:24.67, and <a href=\"https:\/\/swimswam.com\/tag\/joe-polyak\/\" class=\"auto-link-tag\" title=\"View more articles about Joe Polyak\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Joe Polyak<\/a> won the 200 IM in 1:48.43.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, Tampa\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/swimswam.com\/tag\/jacob-hamlin\/\" class=\"auto-link-tag\" title=\"View more articles about Jacob Hamlin\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jacob Hamlin<\/a>, the division II record holder in the event, won the 1000 freestyle in 9:07.64.<\/p>\n<p>Women\u2019s Recap<\/p>\n<p>Minnesota and Tampa raced a normal dual meet while the Notre Dame women swam at Miami on the same day. The Minnesota team came out on top, scoring 186 points to Tampa\u2019s 76, due to their overwhelming number of event wins.<\/p>\n<p>The Gophers took the top time in all but three events, which all went to the same Tampa swimmer.<\/p>\n<p>Minnesota also swept both relays, starting with their 200 medley team of <a href=\"https:\/\/swimswam.com\/tag\/ava-yablonski\/\" class=\"auto-link-tag\" title=\"View more articles about Ava Yablonski\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ava Yablonski<\/a> (25.09), <a href=\"https:\/\/swimswam.com\/tag\/ava-goodno\/\" class=\"auto-link-tag\" title=\"View more articles about Ava Goodno\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ava Goodno<\/a> (28.17), <a href=\"https:\/\/swimswam.com\/tag\/morgan-thomas\/\" class=\"auto-link-tag\" title=\"View more articles about Morgan Thomas\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Morgan Thomas<\/a> (23.45), and <a href=\"https:\/\/swimswam.com\/tag\/livi-wanner\/\" class=\"auto-link-tag\" title=\"View more articles about Livi Wanner\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Livi Wanner<\/a> (23.11) swimming 1:39.82 to come in nearly three seconds ahead of the Tampa \u2018A\u2019 team\u2019s time of 1:42.63.<\/p>\n<p>The 200 freestyle relay saw Wanner and Thomas reprise their roles. Wanner led off in 23.81 while Thomas swam 22.66 in the 2nd leg. From there <a href=\"https:\/\/swimswam.com\/tag\/paige-moreen\/\" class=\"auto-link-tag\" title=\"View more articles about Paige Moreen\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Paige Moreen<\/a> was 23.21 in 3rd and <a href=\"https:\/\/swimswam.com\/tag\/mina-kaljevic\/\" class=\"auto-link-tag\" title=\"View more articles about Mina Kaljevic\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Mina Kaljevic<\/a> anchored in 23.02 to bring the team home in 1:32.70, more than two seconds ahead of the Minnesota \u2018B\u2019 team that swam 1:35.12.Tampa finished 3rd in 1:35.34.<\/p>\n<p>Thomas went on to win the 50 free in 22.81 while Kaljevic swam 50.47 to win the 100 free.
