PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (CBS12) \u2014 A facility that’s expected to bring hundreds of Costco jobs to the city of Port St. Lucie is on track to open in the coming months, according to the corporation’s <\/a>website. <\/p>\n

In March 2026, Port St. Lucie will welcome a Costco Depot at the Sansone Legacy Park in the Tradition neighborhood. According to a news release, the depot will include two facilities<\/a> that will total 1.87 million square feet and employ more than 500 people. <\/p>\n

The Port St. Lucie City Council approved the site plan in December 2023. The first phase of the project consisted of a 595,000 square-foot cold and dry storage facility, which would employ 265 people at an average wage of $55,350 plus benefits. <\/p>\n

The Economic Development Council of St. Lucie County said about $55 million is being invested in the facility, and another $16 million is for the equipment. The council says construction of the city\u2019s first phase will employ 549 workers, generating more than $25 million in labor income.<\/p>\n

The project\u2019s second phase included the construction of a 1.06-million-square-foot dry goods distribution center. The plan also allows for two future expansion areas: 60,000 square feet for cold storage and 147,500 square feet for additional dry storage.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"PORT ST.
