Annette\u2019s Beach Book Nook will be hosting 30 independent authors this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to talk about and sell their novels at the Santini Marina Plaza book store on Fort Myers Beach.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis event was started last year for my grand reopening,\u201d said book store owner Annette Stillson.<\/p>\n
Stillson said the event helps to showcase the local author community who she said were instrumental in helping her rebuild her store.<\/p>\n
\u201cMany donated\u00a0 books and time and also helped spread the word,\u201d Stillson said. \u201cThis year on Facebook I asked authors\u00a0 to contacted me who might be interested in participating, some authors were here last year and I also have many new ones. I had such an overwhelming response that I could not include everybody, so the two author groups will be holding their own group signings Feb. 5 and March 19 at my store as well and some authors will be doing individual signings throughout the season. Those will all be showcased on my Facebook page.\u201d<\/p>\n
For the event there will be tables set up in the\u00a0 breezeway in Santini Marina Plaza with the authors on hand\u00a0displaying their books. There will be books from all genres, such as\u00a0 women\u2019s fiction, historical fiction, nonfiction and children\u2019s books. <\/p>\n
Inside the store there will be refreshments and\u00a0 book-related door prizes.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cAlso I have a special gift for all children who come,\u201d Stillson said,<\/p>\n
\u201cSome of the authors I have coming are Fort Myers Beach resident Ellie Bunting with her book to benefit the Florida Historical Society \u201cThe Lost icons of Fort Myers Beach\u201d and long-time resident Mary Tatarian who\u00a0has written a variety of romance novels under the pen name Mariah Lynne.\u201d<\/p>\n
