Horsehair pottery, as the name implies, incorporates hair from the tails and manes of horses into its design \u2013 the horses are not harmed in the gathering of the hair.\u00a0The random lines and patterns, that are the signature of this style, are created when the strands of hair combust as they are applied to the surface of a hot raku clay pot that has just been removed from the kiln.\u00a0<\/p>\n
