What better way to kick off your New Year\u2019s resolutions than by getting outside, being social, and competing in the ever-growing sport of pickleball?<\/p>\n

The new season for the St. Pete Parks and Recreation Department pickleball leagues begins next week, and registration for the Monday or Thursday leagues is open now<\/a>. The leagues are all doubles play, but free agent spots are open for individual players<\/a>, as well. <\/p>\n

Are you a beginner just learning to dink? Are you an advanced player hoping to match up against a worthy opponent? Yes? That\u2019s perfect because there are two skill levels: Recreation (0\u20133.0), which is ideal for absolute beginners to intermediates. Competitive (3.0\u20135.0), which is ideal for advanced players looking to test their skills against other advanced players.<\/p>\n

Pickleball is an amazing way to get outdoors, exercise while having fun, and meet new friends. It\u2019s an incredibly social sport with an easy learning curve; a spectacular activity to help you reach those New Year\u2019s resolution fitness goals. Cost: $30 per team\/doubles.<\/p>\n

When, where, & How?<\/p>\n

Pickleball leagues officially commence January 12 and 15, so register before it\u2019s too late! There are several locations where you can sign up, or you can register online now<\/a>.<\/p>\n

St. Pete Parks and Rec offers many more rec leagues<\/a>, including softball, kickball, basketball, and football. While most are mid-season now, new spring leagues are beginning soon.
