{"id":109370,"date":"2026-01-07T18:49:09","date_gmt":"2026-01-07T18:49:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/109370\/"},"modified":"2026-01-07T18:49:09","modified_gmt":"2026-01-07T18:49:09","slug":"fort-myers-sarasota-and-tampa-hospitals-gain-forbes-recognition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/109370\/","title":{"rendered":"Fort Myers, Sarasota and Tampa hospitals gain Forbes&#8217; recognition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p id=\"h890567-p1\" class=\"permalinkable\">Nine hospitals in the region were listed among Florida\u2019s best on a recent ranking by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/lists\/top-hospitals\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Forbes magazine\u2019s 2026 Top Hospitals survey.<\/a><\/p>\n<p id=\"h890567-p2\" class=\"permalinkable\">The hospitals on the list \u2014 more than 5,400 were considered initially, the magazine says, and 762 were chosen, with 29 in Florida \u2014 from the region include:\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>AdventHealth Wesley Chapel\u00a0AdventHealth ZephyrhillsHCA Florida Doctors Hospital in SarasotaLakewood Ranch Medical Center\u00a0Lee Memorial Health in Fort MyersMease Dunedin Hospital in Pinellas CountySarasota Memorial Hospital\u2019s main campus in SarasotaSMH&#8217;s Venice campus\u00a0St. Joseph&#8217;s Hospital in Tampa<\/p>\n<p id=\"h890567-p3\" class=\"permalinkable\">It was the first year Forbes compiled such a list, which totaled 253 facilities with five-star rankings and 509 with four-star rankings. Hospitals in the region with five stars are: SMH-Sarasota, AdventHealth Zephyrhills and Lee Health.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Rob Anderson, CEO of Lakewood Ranch Medical Center\" class=\"media-element file-default fr-fic fr-dii\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/DSC_4255_t850.JPG\" title=\"Rob Anderson, CEO of Lakewood Ranch Medical Center\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Rob Anderson, CEO of Lakewood Ranch Medical Center<\/p>\n<p>Photo by Lesley Dwyer<\/p>\n<p id=\"h890567-p4\" class=\"permalinkable\">\u201cWe are honored to be recognized as a 2026 Top Hospitals by Forbes,\u201d Lakewood Ranch Medical Center CEO Rob Anderson says in a release. \u201cThis distinction reflects the dedication and expertise of our entire care team who strive daily to provide exceptional, patient-centered care.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p id=\"h890567-p5\" class=\"permalinkable\">Forbes says its main focus was on clinical patient outcomes.<\/p>\n<p id=\"h890567-p6\" class=\"permalinkable\">\u201cThese measures were given the most weight and, therefore, had the most influence on each hospital\u2019s overall rating,&#8221; the magazine wrote. &#8220;Additionally, these outcomes were statistically adjusted for social drivers of health (SDOH)\u2014such as socioeconomics and access to medical services\u2014because SDOH have been shown to impact outcomes.
