(WCTV) – Land is now being cleared for one of Tallahassee\u2019s newest developments – a combination dog park and brewery – and it\u2019s set to open in the fall. <\/p>\n
The Dog Haus has been in the works for the past couple of years, and co-founder Travis Ismir said it is \u201ctruly surreal\u201d to see the physical progress underway. <\/p>\n
There will be separate spaces for smaller and larger dogs, according to Ismir. <\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a place where people can have some structure in a dog park setting – let their dogs have a little bit more freedom than maybe you\u2019d get at a brewery,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n

In addition to serving local beer, Ismir said they\u2019ll be serving local coffee as well. <\/p>\n
\u201cTake the best parts of a brewery and a coffee shop and combine them,\u201d he said. \u201cA huge part of this is to highlight the local groups that we have here.\u201d <\/p>\n
Part of their goal is to create a social hangout for people, with and without dogs. <\/p>\n
\u201cIf you don\u2019t have a dog, or you\u2019re coming with your friends that do, it is free,\u201d Ismir said. <\/p>\n

\u201cI love the concept,\u201d dog owner Heather Webb said. \u201cAny new business to Tallahassee like that, especially so centrally located, I think will be an amazing contribution to the community.\u201d <\/p>\n
She also visited a similar type of business in North Carolina, and said she has high hopes for The Dog Haus in Tallahassee. <\/p>\n
\u201cIt was a great social spot for people to gather together with their pups,\u201d Webb said. \u201cI hope it\u2019ll be very popular.\u201d <\/p>\n
For the warmer days, Ismir said they\u2019ll have plenty of shade, fans, and cooling stations, and in the winter, he said they\u2019ll have outdoor heaters. The Dog Haus will also have \u201cplenty of TVs\u201d for sports fans. <\/p>\n
Ismir said they hope to have The Dog Haus open in September, just in time for football season.<\/p>\n
