Forget the Everglades and the urban legends, there\u2019s a new mysterious beast coming to SoFlo. Yeah and he\u2019s trading the swamp for the spotlight. We go to another South Florida legend for the story, Alex Miranda.<\/p>\n
He\u2019s seven feet of fur and funk known as Saxsquatch. Now, saxquatch is stomping into Fort Lauderdale and unlike his cousin bigfoot, he doesn\u2019t care if you take a picture of him, he\u2019ll even take a selfie with you.<\/p>\n
Move over, skunk ape! There\u2019s a new bigfoot in the 954, but he\u2019s more \u201csaxy\u201d than scary. <\/p>\n
Meet Saxsquatch, a musical monster who\u2019s gone from forest dweller to music megastar.<\/p>\n
Saxsquatch: \u201cWell my first name sax, last name squatch. Im so excited theres nothing like sax on the beach, you know what i mean?\u201d<\/p>\n
This furry phenom has over three million followers on social media and has jammed with some big names.<\/p>\n
Saxsquatch: \u201cive worked with john oats from hall n oats. We did an official remake of maneater.\u201d<\/p>\n
He even saddled up with billy ray cyrus!<\/p>\n
Sax first emerged from the woods in north carolina \u2013 where he picked up his favorite wind instrument.<\/p>\n
Saxsquatch: \u201ci fell in love with the saxophone and people just started calling me saxsquatch. And slowly but surely, over time ive been able to make it something i love and that resonates with everyone else.\u201d<\/p>\n
Of course we had questions for saxsquatch, serious questions. Like is this picture really you?<\/p>\n
Saxsquatch: \u201cthe patterson grem, it\u2019s not me, Its not me. Thats a controversial photo \u201c<\/p>\n

Saxsquatch: \u201cthats a hot topic. i prefer not to talk about that one.\u201d<\/p>\n
Turns out sax also has a SoFlo connection.<\/p>\n
Saxsquatch: \u201ci got some friends down there, the skunk ape if you\u2019re familiar, we\u2019re actually good pals.\u201d<\/p>\n
When he\u2019s performing, sax goes full beast mode at what he calls his \u201cBigfoot Rave.\u201d<\/p>\n
Saxsquatch: I dont know, if you\u2019ve never experienced lasers before, i had to go through the government to get my license, they\u2019re real class 4A lasers that shoot over peoples heads, they look amazing.\u201d<\/p>\n
So the government knows about you?<\/p>\n
Saxsquatch: \u201cme and the gov go way back. Getting in touch with them was easy and difficult at the same time but we\u2019ve worked some deals out where i\u2019m able to perform and they kind of leave me alone.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mr squatch has big dreams \u2013 almost as big as his size 30 feet.<\/p>\n
Saxsquatch: \u201cmy dream is to play the Superbowl one day.\u201d<\/p>\n
