(WCTV) &#8211; Lawton Chiles High School\u2019s now-former head girls basketball coach was arrested Wednesday evening, according to Leon County Schools. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Troy Hartmann was arrested by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Chiles High Principal Joseph Burgess wrote in a statement to parents, faculty and staff. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" alt=\"Troy Hartmann was arrested by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, LCS Spokesperson...\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/OK4LEVIUZNFBZI7IWRWE4FMYLE.png\" width=\"980\" height=\"551\" \/>Troy Hartmann was arrested by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, LCS Spokesperson Chris Petley wrote in a statement to parents, faculty and staff.(Florida Department of Law Enforcement)<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Court records revealed he was taken into custody around 9:30 p.m. at the high school.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">He faces charges of online solicitation of a minor, harmful communication to a minor, transmitting material harmful to a minor and unlawful use of a 2-way communication device, records show.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" alt=\"He faces charges of online solicitation of a minor, harmful communication to a minor,...\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/37PD4J5JOVBBDBWV6SHZRR5THA.png\" width=\"980\" height=\"551\" \/>He faces charges of online solicitation of a minor, harmful communication to a minor, transmitting material harmful to a minor and unlawful use of a 2-way communication device, records show.(Leon County Jail)<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">As a result, the school district said Hartmann \u201chas been permanently relieved of his duties as coach of the team.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The former coach appeared in court on Thursday, where a judge set a $9,500 bond and imposed restrictions on Hartmann. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">He is prohibited from contacting minors under 18, using the internet or internet devices except for personal finance or communication with a lawyer, and visiting places where children gather. He is allowed to use the internet for business purposes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Hartmann\u2019s arrest comes after an investigation that occurred in November when FDLE agents conducted an undercover operation aimed at targeting online predators, according to FDLE.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | text-center article-text\">More on crime in our area<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">During the operation, the state law enforcement agency said Hartmann contacted an undercover agent, who the former coach believed to be a 15-year-old girl.
