{"id":111360,"date":"2026-01-09T04:18:13","date_gmt":"2026-01-09T04:18:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/111360\/"},"modified":"2026-01-09T04:18:13","modified_gmt":"2026-01-09T04:18:13","slug":"kpmg-florida-receives-honors-for-prepping-state-to-manage-disasters","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/111360\/","title":{"rendered":"KPMG Florida receives honors for prepping state to manage disasters"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Assisting state emergency officials dealing with Hurricane Ian in 2022 was one of the main reasons KPMG was honored.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A prominent professional services company is being recognized for helping Florida emergency managers by training workers to plan for disasters in the state.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/kpmg.com\/xx\/en.html\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer nofollow\">KPMG<\/a> Florida has received the national Gold Award by <a href=\"https:\/\/brandonhall.com\/\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Brandon Hall Group<\/a> for the work the company has done with the Division of Emergency Management (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.floridadisaster.org\/\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer nofollow\">DEM<\/a>) in the past three years.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThis work reflects the dedication of everyone involved. The KPMG Florida team worked side by side with FDEM to build this program and support Floridians recovering from major storms,\u201d said Anthony Monaco, U.S. Partner with KPMG.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The award by Brandon Hall Group, a human resources consulting firm based in Boca Raton, honors long-term partnerships that foster success in communication, develop learning tools and share goals of enhancing responses to emergency events in Florida.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">KPMG has provided operational support and additional training to state emergency workers through multiple hurricane seasons and also augmented support for response, recovery and long-term resilience.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vieraforflorida.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external noreferrer nofollow\" data-wpel-link=\"external\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-753828 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Luis-Viera-Ads-728x90-px.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"728\" height=\"90\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">One of the more prominent projects KPMG was involved in was the strike of <a href=\"https:\/\/kpmg.com\/us\/en\/how-we-work\/client-stories\/state-of-florida-client-story.html\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Hurricane Ian<\/a>, which hit Florida\u2019s Gulf Coast in September 2022. KPMG was selected by DEM officials to help assemble and prepare for dealing with the event with multifunctional teams. KPMG experts helped assess the likely impact of that storm and facilitated coordination between top state officials, local governments and private contractors.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Another event involved detailed planning for the hurricane season in 2024, when KPMG introduced artificial intelligence into <a href=\"https:\/\/thecapitolist.com\/kpmg-florida-ai-the-latest-tool-to-help-with-hurricane-preparedness-and-response\/\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer nofollow\">emergency planning processes<\/a>.
