TALLAHASSEE Fla. \u2013 The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) arrested Troy Hartmann, 56, of Tallahassee, on 1 count each: online solicitation of a minor, harmful communication with a minor, transmitting harmful material to a minor, and unlawful use of a two-way communication device. At the time of his arrest, Hartmann worked as a high school basketball coach in Leon County. None of Hartmann\u2019s charges relate to a current or former student.<\/p>\n
The investigation began in November 2025 when agents with FDLE\u2019s Tallahassee Regional Operations Center conducted an undercover operation aimed at targeting online predators. During the operation, Hartmann contacted an undercover FDLE agent who Hartmann believed to be a 15-year-old female. Hartmann\u2019s charges are based on his communications with the agent acting in an undercover capacity.\u00a0<\/p>\n
FDLE coordinated the arrest in partnership with the Leon County Sheriff\u2019s Office, Tallahassee Police Department, and Leon County Schools\u2019 Department of Safety and Security. \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
Hartmann was taken into custody on January 7 and booked at the Leon County Jail. This case will be prosecuted by the State Attorney\u2019s Office. 2nd Judicial Circuit.\u00a0<\/p>\n
