Curran Young Construction completed two major projects at South Seas on Captiva Island, advancing the resort\u2019s recovery from Hurricane Ian and signaling a broader push toward new and refreshed amenities designed to anchor its next chapter.<\/p>\n

The Beach House restaurant, a new beachfront dining venue, opened in October 2025. Captiva Landing, a 2.5-acre water attraction, followed with an official opening on Dec. 22, 2025. Together, the projects reflect South Seas\u2019 effort to combine resilience with upgraded guest experiences after the storm reshaped much of the island\u2019s hospitality landscape.<\/p>\n

Curran Young<\/p>\n

Beach House is a $6.6 million, 6,667-square-foot restaurant built from the ground up with durability in mind. The structure features concrete masonry unit walls, concrete slabs and metal roofing, materials selected to withstand coastal conditions while supporting a refined aesthetic. Inside, natural wood tones and creamy white finishes are paired with porcelain tile floors and an exposed ceiling. Four oversized bifold doors open to a spacious patio overlooking the Gulf, creating an indoor-outdoor dining experience.<\/p>\n

Captiva Landing introduces a range of family-oriented attractions, including the Bottlenose Bay splash zone with six slides, the Gulfstream lazy river, The Cove relaxation pool, Flippers quick-service restaurant, a classic arcade and Camp-tiva, a nature-based children\u2019s club.<\/p>\n

The two openings are part of a larger scope of work by Curran Young at South Seas. The firm also provided preconstruction and construction management services for the resort\u2019s broader redevelopment, including The Clutch, an open-air clubhouse overlooking the Beau Welling-designed golf course and the Gulf.<\/p>\n

Additional projects included renovations to Redfish Grill, Scoops and Slices, and Harborside. Redfish Grill now offers two stories of indoor and outdoor dining overlooking the Bayview pools, supported by a new kitchen that also serves Scoops and Slices, a reimagined casual spot near the pools. Harborside underwent a $2.85 million renovation, transforming multiple dining rooms into an open-concept, Italian steakhouse-inspired space overlooking the marina.<\/p>\n

In total, Curran Young has completed 11 projects at the 330-acre South Seas property. The work followed a phased construction approach with strict Federal Emergency Management Agency compliance, focusing on elevated structures, upgraded infrastructure and long-term resilience while preserving the character of Captiva Island.<\/p>\n
