\u201cPrancer” didn’t have to go far to live with his new owners who adopted him just hours ago.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cI wanted a strong name for him, not that Prancer is not,\u201d says his new owners, Karina Simpson, and her two sons. \u201cBut I wanted a strong name that shows that he’s a fighter, since he was one of the critical puppies; so we changed his name to Cooper.\u201d<\/p>\n
Only weeks old, Cooper is already crashing the party for the three other Chihuahuas in the Simpson family, who are years older.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe’re in the little puppy honeymoon phase right now which we haven’t had that in years,\u201d she adds. \u201cSo we’re pretty excited about it.\u201d<\/p>\n
Bruce Perry and Genell Guy in Pinellas Park took in Vixen and Rudolph and have no plans to change their names.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey definitely have rescued me, I think Bruce too,\u201d Guy says. \u201cVixen’s name fits her very well. She’s cute and she knows it.\u201d<\/p>\n
The puppies were two litters left in a bin in a park along with two momma dogs in December. A few weeks later, Largo police traced the dogs to a home in the city and found 4 more male adult dogs living in filth, including Polar, who now lives in Tampa with owner Jamile Boukorras.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe’s like the goodest boy,\u201d she says. \u201cThere’s nothing bad to say; he’s so loving.\u201d<\/p>\n
Three people have been arrested in connection to the animal abuse case, including the couple living in a Largo home. They are both facing a dozen felony abuse charges.
