The Tampa-based firmed was at the center of recovery following massive wildfires in California this year. <\/p>\n

A Tampa-based insurance company was named among the best firms in the country by Forbes magazine.<\/p>\n

The economic publication just released its America\u2019s Best Insurance Companies<\/a> ranking for 2026 and Heritage Property And Casualty Insurance Co.<\/a> made that list. Heritage was rated the 28th best insurance firm<\/a> by Forbes.<\/p>\n

The Forbes listing attributed Heritage\u2019s financial strength and service as one of the reasons the company made the ranking.<\/p>\n

Ernie Garateix, CEO of the company headquartered on the Gulf Coast, said the Heritage approach goes beyond simple insurance policies.<\/p>\n

Heritage was key to recovery efforts<\/a> following those blazes in Southern California in January. A team of Heritage personnel was dispatched to the areas of the Palisade wildfires where 16,000 homes were torched and destroyed. The company officials also joined a state of California Fire Insurance Workshop that featured assistance guidance and support for emergency needs and repairs for homeowners.<\/p>\n

Heritage, a relatively new insurance carrier, was founded in 2012 and has about 275 employees. It also has corporate offices in Charlotte, North Carolina. The company labels itself as a \u201csuper-regional\u201d insurance holding company and provides personal and commercial coverage in addition to property policies.<\/p>\n

The company services coverage in U.S. regions including the\u00a0 northeast, southeast, Hawaii and California and has subsidiaries.
