They’ll dress up in the attire.”

There will be five items up for grabs during a live auction.

“What we tried to do was put together auction items that were, in large part, experiential opportunities. Things for people to do or participate in that are unique,” Ankerson said, adding that they thought of excursions for island visitors, too.

The items will include: an Adventures in Paradise sunset cruise for 49 people; a $5,000 gift card to Congress Jewelers; a private three-course dinner for eight at home with Chef Michael Elias; a Sanibel package featuring rentals, gift certificates, passes, tours and more; and a private cocktail party for 25 people at TCH, with flowers by Florabel.

In addition, attendees will have an opportunity to take part in a silent auction. Some available items will include artwork, electronic games like darts, an ergonomic chair, gift certificates and more.

“Some fun and unique things,” she said.

Local favorites will serve up the 1920s-inspired cuisine.

“A variety of island restaurants are donating a component of the theme,” Ankerson said.

The Lazy Flamingo will have its speciality garlic bread, and the Over Easy Cafe will provide deviled eggs. The Paper Fig Kitchen will offer finger sandwiches, while Timbers Restaurant & Fish Market will supply oysters Rockefeller. Other supporters will include ACT Catering, Doc Ford’s Rum Bar & Grille, Gramma Dot’s, Pinocchio’s Original Italian Ice Cream, the Sanibel Deli & Coffee Factory, and Tutti Pazzi Italian Kitchen.

“We’ll have a full open bar with some signature-themed cocktails,” she added.

1920s attire is welcome but not required.

“If people feel inspired to get in costume, we’re definitely encouraging that,” Ankerson said, noting that attendees last year really got into dressing the part. “Whether it’s kind of flapper or Roaring Twenties.”

She expressed gratitude for those helping to support the annual fundraiser.

“We really appreciate those who have stepped up to be sponsors or those who have donated in-kind items,” Ankerson said.

Tickets are $175 per person.

The community is invited to reserve one.

“We are essential to the island. We support a lot of other organizations and have our doors open for people to use,” she said. “Help us celebrate 99 years of being an island establishment in this fun 1920s-themed way.”

For tickets or more information, visit https://sanibelcommunityhouse.net/ or call 239-472-2155.

Sponsorship opportunities are still available.
