ARRESTS<\/p>\n
\u2013 John Costanzo, 63, of 1515 Center St., Sanibel, was charged on Jan. 5 with one count of DUI unlawful blood alcohol 0.15 or higher or with person under 18 in vehicle.<\/p>\n
\u2013 Isabela Gomez Coroy, 48, of 1824 Morton Ave., Los Angeles, California, was charged on Dec. 8 with one count of DUI unlawful blood alcohol 0.15 or higher or with person under 18 in vehicle.<\/p>\n
\u2013 Gregory Shawn Leblanc, 63, of 3740 Coquina Drive, Sanibel, was charged on Jan. 4 with one count of DUI unlawful blood alcohol 0.15 or higher or with person under 18 in vehicle.<\/p>\n
\u2013 Molly Claire Lyne, 23, of 16100 Myriad Lane, Apt. 302, Fort Myers, was charged on Dec. 28 with one count of DUI unlawful blood alcohol 0.15 or higher or with person under 18 in vehicle.<\/p>\n
OTHER ENFORCEMENT ACTIONS<\/p>\n
\u2013 On Dec. 28, a traffic stop was initiated on a vehicle for excessive speed. The driver was subsequently issued a notice to appear for unlawful speed (66 mph in a 35 mph zone).<\/p>\n
\u2013 On Dec. 28, a traffic stop was initiated after an officer viewed a vehicle come to a complete stop, then do a burnout and doughnut while accelerating away at a high rate of speed. The driver was subsequently issued a notice to appear for reckless driving.<\/p>\n
\u2013 On Jan. 1, a traffic stop was initiated on a vehicle for excessive speed. The driver was subsequently issued a notice to appear for unlawful speed (70 mph in a 30 mph zone).<\/p>\n

TIPS AND REMINDERS<\/p>\n
\u2013 The free \u201cSanibel Bound\u201d app provides live feeds from traffic cameras stationed across Sanibel. It is available for Android and iOS devices in the Google Play and Apple App stores.<\/p>\n
\u2013 When leaving Sanibel, motorists are encouraged to travel east on Periwinkle Way. Officers directing traffic give priority to off-island traffic on Periwinkle.<\/p>\n
